Summer’s back, the boards are out !

Summer is back and even if those last two days have been rainy, it’s already the return of the surfing season !

And surfing in New Zealand is definitely a must-do. Apart from telling to your friends and family that Keanu Reeves in Point Break is now an amateur compared to you it’s a super experience that everybody enjoyed last year, in one of the best spots of New Zealand : Raglan.

Raglan 1.-3.4.11

Usually at 299$, the price dropped to 289$ for a student special price, including : the transfer to Raglan and back to Auckland, one night accommodation in a dorm share, a BBQ dinner, a continental breakfast, and of course the surf lessons with the wetsuit and the board hire.

As there are currently quite a lot of interns in Auckland, we would like to try to have you altogether on this surf weekend. So let us know if you would like to take the wave and if the weekend of the 19th of November suits you. Of course you can do the surftrip any other weekend as well and you’ll meet lots of great people on the bus anyway.

Most of you have never surfed, me included, and so don’t worry to be apart,  and even if you are not going into 4 meters high water tubes, you can still expect to have really good sensations.

If you want more infos, don’t hesitate to drop us a mail at

Cheers, Robin

P.S : I think you have heard about the oil slick that is happening right now off Tauranga coasts and which is really a huge environmental disaster for the country, with no doubt the worst in its history. Raglan is not concerned by it so no problem for the surf weekend, but if you want to help I will keep you informed soon on this blog and on facebook for the volunteer options.

Cross the Tasman !

Hi everyone,

As I was planning my holidays to Australia to visit a friend, I have been looking for some special deals and the most interessant I found has been one with Air New Zealand where you can cross the Tasman e.g to Sydney for less than 375$NZ, it’s really cheap and I think I won’t find anything more interessant, and it’s even cheaper if you fly with their partner Pacific Blue (well it’s not the same comfort but I don’t really care for only three hours…)

If you want to spend some holidays in Australia too, I advise you to hurry because the deal ends soon and the other companies fares are more around 430$NZ or 450$NZ.

I hope everything is well for you.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to email us ( or call me (0221 089 664).

Cheers, Robin.

And again a new intern!

Hi everyone,

There is again a new face at the INTERNeX office! My name is Lotte May Heida. I am from Holland, but I have been living in Switzerland for the last 3 years. I have studied European Studies in The Hague and afterwards I have been working in Switzerland. I also did another study in dancing in Switzerland, which I finished in July. After all this hard work, I felt like it was necessary to get a change of location again and this is how I came to INTERNeX New Zealand. During my studies I worked together with people from all over the world. I absolutely loved to learn about different cultures, different values and simply different ways of life. Which is why I am very much looking forward to working here at INTERNeX and meeting all of you!

I have arrived here last wednesday, so I am still learning about Auckland and of course about New Zealand in general. This is why I went on friday on the free bustour of STRAY around the city. It was a great way of getting to know other people, getting to know Auckland and it also offered the opportunity to get some amazing views of the city. There was a little game at the site of the skytower and one of the group won the prize of jumping off the skytower. I was very happy it wasn’t me who won this prize as I don’t like to throw myself off of buildings voluntarily. Afterwards we went for lunch in a pub where we also got the chance to taste some New Zealand beers. As grand finale, we went to the harbour bridge where some of the group again took their chances of taking a discounted (because we were with STRAY) bungeejump.

So I am looking forward to meeting you and don’t hesitate to contact me, Robin or Chris if you have any questions about your stay here in New Zealand. Also, contact us when you’re making your plans for travelling around New Zealand, as we might be able to get you some special deals.
