INTERNeX New Zealand: New Interns

Hey guys,

There are 3 new interns working for INTERNeX and we would like to introduce ourselves to you! So here we are.

Celeste Brinkman

Helloooooooo,11733821_10204286350334158_2740439012262346911_n

My name is Celeste Brinkman and I am one of the 3 new interns of INTERNeX.
I am 18 years now, but will be 19 very, very soon!! (BIRTHDAY PARTY)

I am a Leisure Management student at the NHTV in Breda, The Netherlands and I am currently in my third year out of four. I used to live with my parents in a village near Nijmegen (the city that has the ‘vierdaagse’ where people walk 50km every day for 4 days in a row, but also comes with 7 days of parties and lots of beer!!). When I went to study in Breda, I eventually wanted to get a dorm there and live on my own because I had to travel 3 hours a day by train to get to school.

I always wanted to go travelling around the world and see as many places as I can. So when I have been told on school that I could do an internship abroad, I was going CRAZY!!!! I had to leave The Netherlands and go somewhere, ANYWHERE. Never thought I would go to basically the other side of the world but hey, here I am, writing my first blog for INTERNeX in New Zealand!

Another thing I really like is music, bands and live concerts. Music basically takes over my life and I used to go to concerts at least 10 times a year (I was always broke because of buying concert tickets). I just like the feeling when you’re at an arena and the artist comes out and singing and dancing along to the songs all night long. So basically I like expensive things, concerts and travelling.

I hope to learn as many things as possible from this internship and also meet a lot of new people from everywhere around the world. I am super excited to meet all of you. It is a crazy thought that I’m 18.115 kilometres from home, but I have been enjoying every second of it so far. When I arrived after a 35 hour plane ride, I was jetlagged for almost a week but that did not stop me from seeing Auckland. In the first week, I have been walking around a lot and get to know the place. Knowing where I am staying and how everything works, just settling in a bit. I am excited to also go travelling around the country, and I definitely will! I can’t wait to get this adventure started and hopefully help you to make sure you have an amazing adventure as well!

Mark Faes

Hello everybody! My name is Mark Faes, I am 22 years old and I am an International Leisure Management student located in Breda, The Netherlands. I am in New Zealand for my internship at INTERNeX New Zemarkaland, which is part of my third year.

I live with my parents in
a small village called Boxtel (near to Eindhoven). I love to play football and futsal and going out. Besides that I like going to festivals and other events and I got a season ticket from the football club PSV Eindhoven.
My main goal during our internship is to help you as much as possible, to learn a lot of new people, explore New Zealand and creating some memories for the rest of my life!

Hopefully you all will have a great time here in New Zealand, looking forward meeting you!!

Joyce Hijmans

Hii guysssssssssss,

My name is Joyce Hijmans, 19 years old and come from a very, very, very little village called Hank in the Netherlands. Because people from the cities always make fun of my little village and always say ‘hey farmer’… was this MY moment to get out of that world. So from now on I can call myself ‘new intern for INTERNeX NEW ZEALAND!!!’

The reason why I’m on the other side of the world is because I want to develop myself on my independency, because in my village the food is ready on 5 ‘o clock and my laundry is always clean, thanks mom I love you. But with my age I had to do this on my own. I just had to go on an adventure just like the Hobbit. Since I’m on my third year of my study Leisure management I thought this company would fit my study well. I want to learn as much as possible about organizing trips and promoting them.

I’ve been here for two weeks now and I have to learn sooooo much. Learn everything about INTERNeX and Nomads hostel because I work there as well behind the reception. But I’m sure that I will be fine in a few weeks.

The other thing I definitely want to do is TRAVEL. I want to see as much as possible while I’m here in New Zealand. I already made some trips here in Auckland. I’ve already seen joyce 1every shopping street

there is, visit some amazing parks, walked to the museum and already visit Mount Eden which was AMAZING. The view is so good up there. I also made some really long walks because I get lost all the time. Last Friday I had my first trip to Waiheke Island. I went there to do a zipline and that was awesome too. So I did a few things already in my first two weeks. I’ve made a to-do list too and I’m not leaving this country before I did all these things. I want to visit: Rotorua, Hobbiton, Bay of Islands, Waitomo, Cathedral Love, Rangitoto and Maori village. It’s a very long list but I’m definitely going to do all these thing.

Meanwhile this blog is way too long already which describes what kind of person I am. Always talking too much!! Anyways now you all know a bit more about me and I’m looking forward to meeting you. See youuuu xoxo
