INTERNeX New Zealand : How was your weekend

It has been quite a long time I did not post on the blog, but I won’t wait one more month for the next one I promise.

I hope you all are enjoying the end of the summer, even if the weather in that summer itself was not really great, that’s the least we can say.

As some of you may know I’m passionate about rugby and I’m now playing for the Eden R.F.C Club, near Eden Park, and this weekend was the last “friendly game” before competition kicks off next weekend. So we headed to Takapuna to take on our neighbours from the North Shore and unfortunately… we lost. You may have heard that the Super Rugby season is on, tickets are cheap, entertainment guaranteed : I really encourage you to go watch a game at Eden Park, and don’t be afraid to go alone, the supporters group, the Blue Army is always welcoming everyone in the Lower East Stand of the stadium.

On Sunday there was an International Culture Festival at the Mt. Roskill War Memorial Park, and even if I was not there my flatmates were and they told me that it was rather awesome for the food, especially if you were nostalgic about the German or French specialities…

I’ll keep you updated about the next events happening in Auckland, and from there if you have a picture that you want to share, don’t hesitate to send it to us to be the Picture of the Week, at pr@internexnewzealand.com

Cheers, Robin

MojoSurf Great Deal On Now !

Hi everyone,
I hope you are well wherever you are in the country,
We have just been told by our favourite surf company, MOJO, that they have a really good special on their 5 and 7 day learn to surf trips in March
This trip include transfers from Auckland to Opoutere, (a really beautiful white sand beach on the Coromandel), then to Raglan, one of the most famous surf spots in the world with its black sand beach, and then back to Auckland as well as very cool dorm accommodation (I have been to both spots and they are great!),  a local tour and surf guide, at least one 2 hour surf lesson per day (5 for the 5 days trip and 10 for the 7 days trip) the equipment (surfboard and wetsuit), and of course the company of other young like minded people from around the world.
Normally the 5 days trip is at 645NZ$ and the 7 days trip at 845NZ$   but with this deal, if you book and starts your trip before the end of March you get 150NZ$ off, making it at respectively at 495NZ$ and 695NZ$ and moreover if you book with INTERNeX we are going to give you 5% of this making the total cost $470 and $660. The Mojo mini coach leaves Auckland every Monday and brings you back on Friday or Sunday depending on your trip.
For the meals, at the beginning of the trip everyone on the bus pays a $100 food kitty and you go to the supermarket where the meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner are purchased for the whole trip. If you have special meal requests these are taken care of at this time.
So even if you never surfed before or you are already really good I can highly recommend this trip as it is really heaps of fun and a real taste of New Zealand.  My favourite part is Karioi Lodge where you stay in Raglan is amazing, set in the bush in the heights of Raglan with a sauna and a scenic point to relax in the evening… I can tell you all of that because I have been on this trip myself thanks to Chris who sent me on a famil trip last November.
The picture below was taken in Opoutere.

Picture of the Week

Hi everyone the Picture of this week features the first game of the Super XV in rugby this season which occurred two weeks ago and I was there to see the Auckland Blues lose against the Canterbury Crusaders with a dramatic final.

Picture of the Week

If you don’t know anything about rugby, what you can see on the picture is a phase of the game called scrum.

Picture of the Week

The picture of the week comes from my weekend spent in the Northland, and is taken in the Waipoua Kauri Forest.

Picture of the Week

Kauri trees are the second biggest tree species in the world after sequoias and this is the largest Kauri tree in the world (you can find Kauris in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands…).

Picture of the Week

The picture of this week represents the Mt. Ngauruhoe which has been used by Peter Jackson to be the Mt. Doom of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

You can find all the locations seen in the movies on websites, and tours are organized for example in Wellington to get you there.

INTERNeX New Zealand : How was your weekend ?

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was not particularly busy but on Sunday I went to Orakei Domain where I met the Auckland Blues team as they were playing with kids for a little session to meet the fans. I could get some good pictures with All Blacks and had some stuff signed by them.

Chris went to Splore 2012 where apparently he had a great time, camping and going to the concerts.

I hope your weekend was busy but in a good way !

Cheers, Robin
