Flying Kiwi – Discover New Zealand in a different way

A couple of weeks ago we booked for the first time someone on the Flying Kiwi bus. This awesome company arranges tours through whole New Zealand in a sporting and adventurous way. Instead of hostels you stay in camp grounds and can camp or stay in the camp lodges. Also, you can rent a bike for the whole trip and then if you want to bike for a few hours along some special parts of the country you can and if you get too tired you can just get back on the bus. 25 years ago Flying Kiwi started with arranging bike tours to show some different sides of New Zealand and with so many beautiful parts of New Zealand to see by bike they now have the whole country covered. It’s a pretty special way to see the country.

Some Flying Kiwi facts:

  • Flying Kiwi travels with a group and let you enjoy unique activities and show you stunning landscapes. You bike with a group, which means that you meet new people who like to enjoy New Zealand on a sportive way as well.
  • Flying Kiwi has a license to enable more national parks. They can show you more special places, than other tour operators.
  • They let you experience some real traditional New Zealand culture.
  • You can walk a secret glow-worm walk at night
  • They know a pool in the rain forest, swimming time!
  • You sleep in a tent and they have campsites in the middle of the nature. That means, campfires and spectacular sunsets
  • Flying Kiwi provide all the food, so you don’t have to take care of that.

You can check out www.flyingkiwi.com for all the tours. You always get 5% discount, on the lowest internet price, if you book though INTERNeX. For questions and bookings mail to pr@internexnewzealand.com to book your adventurous tour.

Picture of the Week.

Hi everyone, it’s the return of the Picture of the Week with a photo that illustrates a fundamental rule with the sheeps here in New Zealand, you can notice too that they say nothing about the cow just above…

The picture has been taken on Waiheke island just before I assisted in a sheep shearing which was awesome.

Don’t hesitate to send us your pictures, either they are beautiful, funny, strange or whatever you find cool and the chosen one will be offered a beer or a glass of wine at the next Pub Night !

Summer’s back, the boards are out !

Aloha,

Summer is back and even if those last two days have been rainy, it’s already the return of the surfing season !

And surfing in New Zealand is definitely a must-do. Apart from telling to your friends and family that Keanu Reeves in Point Break is now an amateur compared to you it’s a super experience that everybody enjoyed last year, in one of the best spots of New Zealand : Raglan.

Raglan 1.-3.4.11

Usually at 299$, the price dropped to 289$ for a student special price, including : the transfer to Raglan and back to Auckland, one night accommodation in a dorm share, a BBQ dinner, a continental breakfast, and of course the surf lessons with the wetsuit and the board hire.

As there are currently quite a lot of interns in Auckland, we would like to try to have you altogether on this surf weekend. So let us know if you would like to take the wave and if the weekend of the 19th of November suits you. Of course you can do the surftrip any other weekend as well and you’ll meet lots of great people on the bus anyway.

Most of you have never surfed, me included, and so don’t worry to be apart,  and even if you are not going into 4 meters high water tubes, you can still expect to have really good sensations.

If you want more infos, don’t hesitate to drop us a mail at pr@internexnewzealand.com.

Cheers, Robin

P.S : I think you have heard about the oil slick that is happening right now off Tauranga coasts and which is really a huge environmental disaster for the country, with no doubt the worst in its history. Raglan is not concerned by it so no problem for the surf weekend, but if you want to help I will keep you informed soon on this blog and on facebook for the volunteer options.

What did you do on your weekend?

Hi All,

I hope you all had a fun and exciting weekend!

My weekend started with a great night out which included watching the Royal Wedding, checking out some nice bars, meeting a many friends and having a lot of fun!

After that massive party night I decided to get out my flat and visit one of the most famous memorial places in Auckland – One Tree Hill – a 182 metre volcanic peak.

I heard about this spot a couple of times and I always passed the hill on my way to work when still used to live out of town.

Finally a friend of mine and I decided to climb this hill.

On our way to One Tree Hill we stopped in Onehunga where you have a great shopping opportunity because they have a big factory outlet shopping centre with sweet as reduced clothes. (check out www.dress-smart.co.nz if you feel like spending a day in a shopping mall!)

After a nice and successful speed shopping experience,  we continued our journey even if it was a very windy and rainy sunday. We walked up the hill through the beautiful parks which surround the hill and after a 30 minute walk we reached the top of the hill.

On the top you have beautiful view over the whole super city and the sea.

For detailed information about the history of One Tree Hill I recommend to check out www.cornwallpark.co.nz while listening to the song One Tree Hill by the famous band U2.

I absolutely enjoyed this walk and especially the view on top of the hill and I definitely recommend it to all of you guys if you haven’t been up there already!

Have a great start into the week!

Cheers
