17th New Zealand Pub Night !

Hi everyone, I’m back from my little road trip and this means that I finally can organise the first Pub Night of the year !

So even if we are not so many in town at the moment it would be great if we could see each of you on Thursday night.

The Rakino’s will once more be our starting base and then we’ll move on to Cassette or somewhere else if you have good ideas.

So see you on Thursday night at 7:00PM !

Cheers, Robin

Beaches in Auckland

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great Christmas and that the new year begins well for you. I came back from holiday so I’ll be more active on the blog than the last weeks.

Unfortunately I can’t organise a Pub Night this week because I won’t be there again but next week you can reserve your Thursday night.

After those last weeks of rain and storm it seems that finally the real summer’s here so it’s time to discover the best beaches in Auckland and in the near areas.

North Shore

Takapuna Beach
Takapuna is a very popular beach close to the business area with good parking and a large boat ramp. There are toilets and a changing block, as well as a picnic area. On a clear day enjoy great views of the volcanic island of Rangitoto and other Hauraki Gulf islands.

Milford Beach
Milford Beach is a popular family beach with a large grassed area and areas for beach volleyball. It has a children’s playground and a toilet block. It is also home to a marina, sea scouts and the Milford Cruising Club. There is a boat ramp and parking off Milford Road.

Thorne Bay

Thorne Bay is a spot favored by young people and is situated between Takapuna Beach and Milford Beach. It is only accessible by foot.

Auckland City

Mission Bay – Kohimarama – St Heliers

Situated East of Auckland those beaches are also at the proximity of shops and cafés, the beaches are shorter than in Takapuna but very popular as well.

Pt. Chevalier

Point Chevalier Beach is one of the best beaches on the Waitemata Harbour, and certainly the best west of the city. The beach is well sanded and offers good swimming near high tide.

Out of Auckland

Piha Beach

Piha is one of, if not the most famous beach in New Zealand. It is reknowned for its superb scenic beauty and its surf, all just 40 minutes drive from Auckland CBD. Piha has black iron sand swept up the coast from the entrance to the Waikato River, the sand produced by the eruption of Taupo eons ago.

Picture of the Week.

Hi everyone, it’s the return of the Picture of the Week with a photo that illustrates a fundamental rule with the sheeps here in New Zealand, you can notice too that they say nothing about the cow just above…

The picture has been taken on Waiheke island just before I assisted in a sheep shearing which was awesome.

Don’t hesitate to send us your pictures, either they are beautiful, funny, strange or whatever you find cool and the chosen one will be offered a beer or a glass of wine at the next Pub Night !

12th INTERNeX New Zealand Pub Night : Let’s socialize and learn rugby.

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed no Pub Night has been organised for a long, so I can announce you that the next one will be on this Friday night (the 30th) and will be held firstly at Rakino’s on Freyberg Place, then we will head at the Shakespeare on Albert St. where we can watch the game between South Africa and Samoa (big and tough game), no worry if you don’t know the rules I will be at your disposal to explain them to you, and if you are simply not interested in rugby, you can still have good beers and a chat with others.

This will be the first time for many of you that you see me and it’s gonna be great for me to meet you too. I won’t be the only new face as I will be joined by a new intern, Lotte, from Thursday in the PR team. You’ll know shortly more about her on this blog, or when you meet her at the Pub Night. Whether you just arrived in New Zealand or you are here for months, it’s always good to socialize around a few drinks, so I hope to see you on Friday at 7:00PM on the Freyberg place in front of the Rakino’s.

Cheers, Robin.
