INTERNeX New Zealand: New team member!

Hi everyone!

My name is Natalia Moncada, the newest member of INTERNeX New Zealand. I am a 26 years old, social communicator from Bogota, Colombia.

I have worked in different companies, such as Kimberly-Clark Colombia, PwC Mexico, and Havas Worldwide Vale Mexico. I have experience in communications, marketing and advertising. In my previous job, I created advertising strategies for different brands in the entertaining, retail, and food industries.

I am now studying Digital Marketing here in Auckland and will be working at INTERNeX 20 hours per week around my studies.

I will be in charge of supporting administrative activities in the company and also optimising internal and external communications.

I have always loved to travel and I’ve been very lucky to see some amazing places already. Now that I am in New Zealand I’m looking forward to discovering more wonderful places in this country (especially hiking places).

I am very excited to work with the INTERNeX team and to get to know all our travellers and partners.  I want to help as much as I can and have fun while doing it.

Feel free to email me anytime on Natalia@internexworld.co.nz

INTERNeX New Zealand: Fun, Fright, Flight/Fight, Fit

Those are the 4 different stages that everyone goes through when settling in a new country 🙂 Moving to another country is a big step and will always involve a lot of adjustments. This usually almost results in a culture shock, even though you will not be expecting this when you move to such a modernized country such as New Zealand.

1. FUN

This is the first stage that someone will go through. In this stage everything is a lot of fun because you are meeting new people, you are seeing new places and this will carry you through the first few weeks that you will be here.

sponge fun

2.FRIGHT

This is the point where you realize that you are in a different country, all by yourself without your family and friends from back home. It might feel like everything back home is going on as usual, and that you are missing out on a lot of things. 😥

fright

3.FLIGHT/FIGHT

This is where you get unsure about your decision to move to New Zealand. You are thinking about going home (flight) or about just staying here and fight for it.

4.FIT

This is the final stage where you are feeling at home in New Zealand, everything is going the way that you want it to go and everything is AMAZING!

We are sure that you are just gonna skip the second and third phase because New Zealand is just an amazing place, the people are extremely nice and welcoming and you are never gonna wanna leave! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

INTERNeX New Zealand: Opening of the Ski-season

Kia Ora guys and girls!

As you all do or do not know, the ski season is about to be opened in the South Island. The first ski area to be opened will be Mt Hutt in Canterbury on the 12th of June, followed by Coronet Peak and Cardrona in the Queenstown and Wanaka areas. This seems like an amazing opportunity for you guys who are located in the south island or for the ones that are going to travel there!

Don’t worry if you are not going there anytime soon, because the ski-season last year lasted 128 days! And for you guys who are not going to the south island at all: INTERNeX is organizing a ski-trip in the North Island. More information about that will follow soon!!

Don’t forget that if you have ANY questions (also those not related to skiing) you can contact us via Facebook or via e-mail (pr@internexnewzealand.com).

We hope you are enjoying your time in New Zealand and we would love to receive some updates about how your stay is so far!

It is not that hard to find a place to live in Auckland. The only thing is, it’s quiet expensive to live in Auckland, especially in the CBD (central business district). There are a lot of apartments, who let you live with two people in one room to share the costs. So if you got a friend/boyfriend/girlfriend  who you don’t mind to share your room with, it will save you a lot of money. It is free to react on a accommodation, so you don’t need a membership the only thing you need is an account.

Don’t you know what to do today, have a look on these websites about what’s going on in Auckland/New Zealand. Events

I am also really proud to develop and establish our Traveldesk and the Pubnight and I am sure Robin, our new intern will go on with it really good.

I wish you all a great time like me in New Zealand, enjoy your stay and don’t forget to travel! This is the best way to get familiar with this country. I know what I am talking about…;-)

My time in New Zealand wouldn’t be the same, if I hadn’t worked at INTERNeX.

So thanks to everyone making my stay here to an unforgettable experience. INTERNeX will keep on to do the same for you.

Goodbye, Caroline

Today we start the INTERNeX New Zealand Blog

Hello and welcome to the new Blog from INTERNeX International Exchange. In the next couple weeks we will add information about us, about our services and events. But to give you a little idea who we are and what we do please allow me to introduce INTERNeX and of course myself.

My name is R. Simon Kaebe and I am the PR and as well the IT Manager of INTERNeX International Exchange. My job is to update our website(s), inform you, with the help of our wonderful PR team, about events and what you can do during your time in New Zealand. I also created most of the communication tools we have in place to provide you a better service and that helps us to stay in touch with you.

But what is INTERNeX International Exchange doing anyways?

We are Canada’s leading organization for placements allowing you to work, live and learn in Canada and of course as well other location such as New Zealand. If you are looking for an internship, a work placement in the hospitality industry or would like to learn more about New Zealand’s or Canada’s countryside. We have the right program for you. We also offer many different and interesting Volunteer placements, for those who are interested in working with a Volunteer station / organization.

Our company is built around people. People who want to explore new places and experience what the world has to offer. To truly understand what it means to live in today’s world, we believe that you need to gain real, practical experience in a foreign country and not just see through the eyes of a tourist. This has been the philosophy of our organization since we began in 1998 and is still what drives us today.

Our employees are world citizens. Everyone has lived and traveled abroad extensively, making our team intimately aware of the barriers constantly challenging our participants and affiliates. Our individual experiences have made us more driven to participate wholly in the betterment of the global community by providing opportunities for understanding and awareness. The INTERNeX staff, participants and affiliates are part of an organization that has its eyes to a future without cultural or linguistic barriers.

Our Vision
INTERNeX International Exchange strives to provide the highest quality of professional development services to our clients. Our programs are tailored specifically to fit the needs of our participants who are seeking on-site practical experience and for host organizations seeking to enrich their capacity for globalization.
