INTERNeX New Zealand: My trip to Mt. Eden

Hi guys,

insta
First things first: WE MADE AN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT!!!! So are you on Instagram?? Give us a follow: internexnz      🙂

I have been here now for three weeks and I have been loving every second of it. I have already seen a lot of Auckland and I can NOT wait to go travel some more around the country. One of the greatest things I have done these past few weeks, is climbing up to Mount Eden.

Mount Eden is a vibrant, funky suburb with a great combination of culture and nature. Iblog 1f you walk to the top of Mount Eden, you have some of the best views in Auckland. This depends on the weather,
though.

I went on Saturday and the weather wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t clear or sunny. The walk towards the mountain took about 1 hour, but it is great to walk through Auckland and explore some streets and nice neighbourhoods. If you don’t like walking that much, or aren’t sporty AT ALL, no worries. There is a bus going there which you can take from all around the city.

Still with the weather being bad, you can take some amazing pictures, just relax, take in the moment and breathe in the fresh air. I just sat at the top, taking in the amazing view, looking out over Auckland, thinking about how crazy it was that I was sitting there, 18.115 km away from home.

blog 2The next day, Sunday, my friend, Joyce the other intern, wanted to do a workout on top of Mount Eden. So we put on our sporting clothes and there I went… AGAIN. Walked all the way to Mount Eden, climbed it. Luckily the weather was WAY better than the day before. We were on the top, first admiring the great view, then we went to do our workout. It was a crazy thought to be on top of a mountain and doing this, because back home in The Netherlands we basically only have those flat, boring parks and
the gym.
blog 3So, whenever you are in Auckland I would highly recommend going to Mount Eden. If you just arrived from your flight that day, and want to go do something to beat the jetlag, get a map, take a walk in the fresh air and enjoy a great view of Auckland. You don’t have to pay for anything, this is a free trip and a great way to get some exercise done 😉

Oh and it looks EVEN better in real life.

INTERNeX New Zealand: Bay of Islands 2015

Kia Ora Everybody! We hope you had a great weekend, because we definitely did with an amazing Stray tour up to the Bay of Islands!

On Saturday the 11th of April, Me (Yoran), Esmerlin, Joyce and two INTERNeX Participants started our great weekend full of fun. Our stray driver Muesli picked us up in front of the Stray office in Auckland at 7:20 AM (damn that was early).

On our way to the Bay of Islands we made several stops. We stopped a few times to use the toilet of course, but we also stopped at a huge Kauri Tree to do some tree hugging. After that, we stopped at a cute little farmers market to grab some breakfast.

In the bus on our way up to the Bay of Islands, our driver was just explaining what kinds of activities we could do on Saturday and Sunday. He was explaining a Hole in the rock tour with the possibility of seeing some dolphins, another boat tour, and then he told us that we could also do a Skydive…

Of course, as badass as we are, we just decided to do it and 2 hours later we jumped out of an airplane…

The same night we had a great BBQ for only $12, and the next day we just decided to take it easy, take a ferry to the first capital city of New Zealand (Russell), and just walk around and let the beautiful view sink in. If you want to see any more pictures, take a look on our Facebook Page! (Link at the bottom)

We want to thank Stray for this great weekend!

If you have anything that you would like to do, and you would like to do it in a group, let us know! You can send us a private message on our Facebook Page, or you can email us!

MojoSurf Great Deal On Now !

Hi everyone,
I hope you are well wherever you are in the country,
We have just been told by our favourite surf company, MOJO, that they have a really good special on their 5 and 7 day learn to surf trips in March
This trip include transfers from Auckland to Opoutere, (a really beautiful white sand beach on the Coromandel), then to Raglan, one of the most famous surf spots in the world with its black sand beach, and then back to Auckland as well as very cool dorm accommodation (I have been to both spots and they are great!),  a local tour and surf guide, at least one 2 hour surf lesson per day (5 for the 5 days trip and 10 for the 7 days trip) the equipment (surfboard and wetsuit), and of course the company of other young like minded people from around the world.
Normally the 5 days trip is at 645NZ$ and the 7 days trip at 845NZ$   but with this deal, if you book and starts your trip before the end of March you get 150NZ$ off, making it at respectively at 495NZ$ and 695NZ$ and moreover if you book with INTERNeX we are going to give you 5% of this making the total cost $470 and $660. The Mojo mini coach leaves Auckland every Monday and brings you back on Friday or Sunday depending on your trip.
For the meals, at the beginning of the trip everyone on the bus pays a $100 food kitty and you go to the supermarket where the meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner are purchased for the whole trip. If you have special meal requests these are taken care of at this time.
So even if you never surfed before or you are already really good I can highly recommend this trip as it is really heaps of fun and a real taste of New Zealand.  My favourite part is Karioi Lodge where you stay in Raglan is amazing, set in the bush in the heights of Raglan with a sauna and a scenic point to relax in the evening… I can tell you all of that because I have been on this trip myself thanks to Chris who sent me on a famil trip last November.
The picture below was taken in Opoutere.

Trip to Bay of Islands

Hey guys (or mostly gals)

I just wanted to tell you that I am going with Robin and another girl to the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga next weekend. We will be leaving on Friday (11th of November) morning, stopping in Whangarei and Goat Island before going to Paihia where we would like to do some dolphin swimming and snorkeling (if the weather allows that). The next day we will go to ninety mile beach where you can do sanddune surfing and in Cape Reinga we can see the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea come together. On Sunday the 13th we will have some time to spend in Paihia and then we’ll head back to Auckland.

If a visit to the Bay of Islands and Cape Reiga is still on your must-do list and you feel like joining us, just let me know! The more the merrier we think!

X Lotte

Cross the Tasman !

Hi everyone,

As I was planning my holidays to Australia to visit a friend, I have been looking for some special deals and the most interessant I found has been one with Air New Zealand where you can cross the Tasman e.g to Sydney for less than 375$NZ, it’s really cheap and I think I won’t find anything more interessant, and it’s even cheaper if you fly with their partner Pacific Blue (well it’s not the same comfort but I don’t really care for only three hours…)

If you want to spend some holidays in Australia too, I advise you to hurry because the deal ends soon and the other companies fares are more around 430$NZ or 450$NZ.

I hope everything is well for you.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to email us (pr@internexnewzealand.com) or call me (0221 089 664).

Cheers, Robin.
